Big Bear Little Bear

I seem to have spent most of my career painting bears in one form or another. The only polar bears though have been in BIG BEAR LITTLE BEAR, which has just been released as a special 15th anniversary paperback by Little Tiger Press. When I was researching the snowy landscapes for this, I realised how colourful the book could be; snow reflects so much light and rarely looks white at all. My favourite spread is the endpaper, which has the bear cub trotting after his mother in a wide, lilac-grey landscape. (I gave the original painting to my Mum, who promptly hung it in her downstairs loo!).
